Energy Performance of Buildings Directive Rating the performance of your buildings From October 2008 new regulations come into force relating to the energy performance of buildings. Buildings over 10,000 m2 will need an Energy Performance Certificate if they are sold or leased. In addition, any building over 1,000 m2 which is visited by the public will need a Display Energy Certificate showing its performance.
