Client:

Part of the largest hotel chain in the world, and with 300 member hotels in the UK, Best Western is the most distinctive brand in the industry.

Objective:

Beacon is the purchasing arm of Best Western and offers Best Western hotel members and other leisure sector partners unrivalled buying power, facilitating competition with the big branded chains. Seeking a partner to deliver competitive energy procurement services to Best Western members, Beacon selected Inenco after a thorough tendering process.

Result:
Over £1 million of quantifiable savings on electricity purchasing to date.

Details:
  • Inenco implemented a central electricity and gas procurement strategy for Best Western, offering competitive rates against those that members could achieve in their own right.
  • The scheme is actively promoted to the group members, and supported by a dedicated helpdesk at Inenco.
  • Inenco also provide Bureau Services, and energy bills are verified by Inenco on an ongoing basis, with payments being processed via a central billing arrangement.
Since our appointment, Inenco have negotiated energy supply contracts for over 1,500 members of the Best Western Group, and have verified and processed over £20M of electricity and gas invoices via central billing.

There are currently 600 members purchasing electricity via the scheme, and 300 members purchasing gas, with a total annual expenditure of £7.5 million. Quantifiable savings of over £1 million have been identified and obtained to date.
