Client:
Ilford Imaging has been one of the foremost names in imaging for well over a century.

Objective:
Ilford wanted to reduce their energy costs by maximising the Climate Change levy discount and effectively reducing their consumption via a Climate Change Agreement.

Result: 
Inenco identified that Ilford were eligible for 80% discount off their Climate Change Levy.  This resulted in a saving of £95,000 per annum, which was over 10% of the company's energy spend. 

Details:
Ilford has a large manufacturing plant as part of a pan-European operation and were paying Climate Change Levy (CCL) on 100% of their energy consumption when Inenco first approached them.

  • Inenco guided Ilford through the process of establishing eligibility and subsequently achieving the full CCL discount.
  • We implemented an energy efficiency plan, helped monitor consumption against targets and review progress during regular project meetings.
  • Monthly written reports helped to maintain client focus on important areas of cost saving as well as performance against targets.
Energy usage reductions were achieved, ensuring that government emissions targets were met and the CCL discount was maintained.

As a result Ilford Imaging achieved a CCL discount of £95,000 per annum on an energy spend of £900,000.

Following the success in the implementation of our energy efficiency plan, Ilford expanded the Inenco brief to include the legal compliance requirements of their IPPC Application. With our guidance, compliance was achieved by the following year.
