The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) have issued an update on what might change when the UK leaves the EU, what will stay the same if there is no deal and what your business should consider.

The update from BEIS states that when the UK leaves the EU there may be changes to areas including energy renewables, the nuclear industry and regulated carbon emissions.

The update doesn’t contain any new information, however it is a handy summary of what businesses should be considering in the run-up to the leave date on Friday 29th March, including:

  • EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS)
  • UK electricity market
  • Single Electricity Market in Northern Ireland
  • Nuclear
  • Oil stocking
  • Guarantees of Origin, trading, importing and exporting, and standards
