Greg Clark retains position as Secretary of State within BEIS – Inenco Response

12th June 2017

Commenting on the announcement that Greg Clark will retain his position as Secretary of State within BEIS, David Cockshott, chief commercial officer at energy consultant Inenco, said:

“In this period of uncertainty it is important to have continuity. We appreciate that after last Thursday’s election result, there are some huge strategic priorities for the government to address, but energy must remain a focus.

Energy is a pressing concern for businesses and consumers, and the government must remember the promises it has made.

Alongside the price cap for domestic customers, there was also a commitment to review how to make bills more affordable for businesses – and given the fact that energy costs are expected to rise by 25 per cent by 2020, the government cannot put this on the back-burner”
